Denim is one of the worst offenders when it comes to fashion production, but Los Angeles-based label Reformation is applying its planet-friendly practices to the hardest working part of our wardrobes. Enter: the Hanna jeans. Cut to a classic straight silhouette that sits high on the waist, they’re whipped up from a blend of organic and recycled cotton as well as sustainable fibres derived from eucalyptus trees. Clever, right?
Long before it became fashionable, Reformation made sustainability cool, with limited collections of dresses, ethically-made in LA with ‘deadstock’ material. They’re still leading change, promising to be climate positive by 2025.
As the sustainable fashion movement gathers pace, we’re shining a light on the individual pieces with eco credentials, whether that’s lower-impact natural fabrics like linen, lyocell and organic cotton, recycled fibres, or more planet-friendly manufacturing techniques. If it’s greener, it’s here.
